Community building and networking in the Baltic Bioeconomy

On Wednesday, 2 December 2020 the event “Beach Wrack in the Bioeconomy” was arranged by the CONTRA partner Krinova Incubator and Science Park. Over 60 attendees had joined the event eager to build their network, get up-to-date information on Beach Wrack issues and start new collaborations. The event was nicely framed by Jessica Hjerpe Olausson of the Maritime Cluster of West Sweden and Dr. Jana Wölfel representing the University of Rostock, Lead Partner of the CONTRA project. Interaction and energy levels were high, especially during the workshop when participants were divided into groups with different Beach Wrack related themes. The results from the workshops were shared in the plenary and followed by a panel discussion. “I think this is historical, more than 60 Beach Wrack professionals gathered in the same room. Overall, we are very happy with the event and have high hopes of being it the starting point for new initiatives leading to innovation in Beach Wrack management.”, says Jens Almqvist – Project lead and Business Designer at Krinova Incubator and Science Park.
